On August 22, at Summerslam 1999, Luna stops Ivory from attacking Tori. On August 26 (SmackDown) Luna involves herself in Ivory’s Evening Gown match, to stop Tori this time. On August 30 (Raw is War) Ivory, doing an in ring interview, gets attacked by successively Tori, Luna and Jacqueline. On September 13 (Raw) Ivory intervenes in Luna’s match against Jeff Jarrett. She hits Luna with Jarrett’s guitar. This will lead to a match between Ivory and Luna for the Championship scheduled for Unforgiven on September 26. Meanwhile, on September 20 (Raw) Ivory issues an open challenge… and gets destroyed by… Luna. On September 23 (SmackDown) Luna offers to make their Women’s Championship a Hardcore match, which Ivory accepts.
So, there we are…
Unforgiven’s hardcore match for the Women’s Championship is refereed by Harvey Wippleman. It starts in the backstage area and stays there. Neither lady holds anything back. Luna throws a TV, a phone and other assorted objects at Ivory. Ivory uses a trash can, a glassware container, a chair and more furniture. Walls and doors turn into weapons too. Luna slams Ivory’s face into a photocopier. Ivory deposits Luna in a garbage barrel. Luna jumps off the top of a forklift and crashes onto Ivory for a two count. Then crushes Ivory’s throat with a broom handle. Ivory barely escapes. Just as it looks like Ivory will hit Luna with a metal pole and get the win, Tori steps in, grabs the pole and takes a wild swing at Ivory. Ivory ducks and lays Tori out to sleep in a travel case. Bashing Luna with the pole in the stomach, then in the neck, Ivory is able to pin Luna in quick fashion.

Round the corner, Lilian Garcia is advising Moolah and Mae Young: stay out of Jeff Jarrett’s business. Ivory interrupts, and turning to Moolah calls out to her: “Did you see that, old lady? That’s a real WWF champ…” Before she can finish her sentence Moolah hits her in the mouth and both women go down to the ground in a catfight. Ivory gets a beating until Sgt. Slaughter and a gaggle of officials come to the rescue.
